Loss & Bereavement
Grief: a human reaction to loss
Grief isn't limited to the loss of a loved one. It can also occur following a separation, a move, a career change, the loss of a pet, or even the loss of a dream or a physical ability. These losses, whether visible or invisible, can profoundly disrupt your emotional balance.
We offer a safe space to express your grief, understand your reactions, and go through mourning at your own pace, without judgment.

When should you consult a psychologist for bereavement?
The grieving process is unique to each individual. Some people feel a need for support quickly, while others seek it after several months or even years.
You could benefit from psychological support if you are experiencing:
A deep, persistent sadness
Difficulty resuming your usual activities
A feeling of emptiness or loss of meaning
Anger, guilt, or regret
Social isolation or sleep disorders
An inability to accept the reality of loss

Types of losses we support
Death of a loved one (spouse, parent, child, friend)
Death of a pet
Breakup or divorce
Loss of a job or a life project
Perinatal bereavement or infertility
Loss of abilities due to illness or aging
Loss of identity related to immigration or a life transition
Every type of grief deserves to be recognized and respected.

We offer in-person consultations at our Toronto office, as well as online sessions via a secure platform. Teletherapy allows you to receive psychological support from anywhere in Ontario, in the comfort of your own home, while maintaining confidentiality and the quality of care.
A typical session lasts 50 minutes. The frequency can be weekly, bi-weekly, or adjusted to your needs. Some choose a short-term approach (5 to 10 sessions), while others commit to deeper work over several months.
